SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORK PLACE

SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT THE WORKPLACE :

✅POSH Act: The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, was passed in 2013 and defines sexual harassment as well as the processes for filing a complaint, conducting an investigation, and taking appropriate action. 

✅Vishaka guidelines: In a 1997 ruling, the Supreme Court established the Vishaka rules. The Sexual Harassment of  
Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (the "Sexual Harassment Act") was based on these guidelines. 

Government Initiatives: 

✅ SHe-Box: To provide a single point of contact for all women, regardless of their employment position, whether they are employed in the organised or unorganised, private or public sector, to make it easier to file a complaint about sexual harassment. 

✅Nirbhaya Fund: A dedicated non-lapsable corpus fund for the implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety and security of women in the country. 

✅Swadhar Greh: With little economic or social assistance, this programme strives to give basic necessities to neglected women and girls who are struggling to make ends meet. 

✅ Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC): To facilitate access to an integrated range of services including police, medical, legal,  
and psychological support and temporary shelter to women affected by violence. 

✅ Women Helpline Scheme: To offer women who have experienced violence, including sexual assaults and harassment, a 24-hour emergency and non-emergency response in both the public and private domain, including the  
family, community, employment, etc. 

✅UJJAWALA: For the purpose of stopping trafficking and giving assistance with the rescue, treatment, reintegration, and return of women and children who have been trafficked to India for commercial sexual exploitation.
